LXG vs Mr. Marshall
STIPULATION: SINGLES
REFEREE:
AUTHOR: JAMIE FLETCHER
Mr. Marshall and LXG circle one another preparing to do combat. Mr. Marshall makes a move for Lincoln who shimmies out of harms way. LXG turns back towards Mr. Marshall and brings his right foot crashing into the back of Mr. Marshall’s wrist. LXG sniggers and continues his attack driving through the back of Mr. Marshall’s head with his boot. Mr. Marshall is grounded and at the mercy of LXG who drags him across the ring. Mr. Marshall kicks free and rolls out of the ring before LXG can put the corner of the ring to any use.
Sliding back into the ring Mr. Marshall successfully avoids any follow up from LXG who allows Mr. Marshall some breathing space. Laughing LXG lifts his right hand into the air, Mr. Marshall grabs LXG’s right hand but it’s a trap, out shoots LXG’s left foot: destination gut of Marshall but Marshall could see it coming. Marshall pushes LXG’s left foot with his spare hand, LXG spins out of control and Marshall nails him with a standing dropkick completely reversing the momentum of the submission in his favor.
On the mat Marshall dominates LXG applying pressure to the submission he was once the victim of. LXG struggles towards the ropes but Mr. Marshall is ring smart and won’t give LXG such an easy way out… LXG is flung back into the centre of the ring by Mr. Marshall. LXG horizontally grounds both of his feet and then flips up, with quick rapid actions he slides his foot around the back of Mr. Marshall’s legs and takes them out.
Grounded and once again the wrong end of a submission Mr. Marshall can do nothing but pray for the best. This time LXG won’t waste his opportunity, LXG locks a second submission on the same arm this time further down. Then pushing down LXG traps Mr. Marshall’s hand between his legs, this increases the pure brutality of the hold. Then lifting himself slightly off of the mat LXG smashes the wrist of Mr. Marshall repeatedly into the ring canvas.
Mr. Marshall doesn’t have the high flying talent of LXG and instead takes the traditional approach of reversals and that is matching a submission with a submission. Using all his power Mr. Marshall tries to lift his legs into the air, the leg’s are supposed to wrap around LXG’s head and pull him down and under Mr. Marshall’s control. Nice plain! But… LXG is smart, cunning and knows exactly what to do, LXG is rapid and speedy in his exchange within seconds of releasing Mr. Marshall’s arms LXG snatches his legs.
Bowwing his body Marshall latches onto the ropes in front of him and drags LXG down into a roll up??? Out of nowhere.
ONE!
LXG is free. LXG regroups but Mr. Marshall will not spare LXG a second in fear of losing control of the proceedings. Clothesline, LXG this the mats and instantly pops back up… right into a big rising knee but LXG spots it and ducks the knee. Also spotting the counter Marshall fights the momentum and doesn’t follow through with the knee… this way the back of his leg catches LXG.
Not out but slightly taken back LXG responds with a half hearted head lead charge at Mr. Marshall but Mr. Marshall side steps and takes LXG down with a drop toe hold but the ropes are to close and LXG springs off of them.
LXG lands face up on the mat and with Mr. Marshall’s legs wound with his. Mr. Marshall is in control of LXG as LXG struggles to get out of Mr. Marshall’s figure four styled submission but the referee is sharp and notices LXG does get a foot on the bottom rope of the ring and he accordingly counts to four and forces Mr. Marshall to break the hold.
Begrudgingly Mr. Marshall accepts the referee’s command and releases the submission as instructed. Unsuccessfully LXG tries to jump out of harms way but Mr. Marshall punches LXG in the back on the ankle considerably slowing his escape down. Mr. Marshall pushes on the back of LXG… LXG flips and his feet catch the face of Mr. Marshall.
The do or die move comes off with mixed results, Mr. Marshall is down but so is LXG. Neither man is in control as the referee begins to count ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! LXG tip’s up onto his feet. Running off into the ropes LXG hurries back across the ring and jumps into the air, extending his leg he drops it across the neck of Mr. Marshall.
ONE!
TWO!
Kickout.
Bursting back into action Mr. Marshall hurls LXG out of his comfort zone. Taken by surprise LXG collides with the corner post in a mess and is actually seriously hurt by the very unorthodox offensive. Getting up Mr. Marshall lifts LXG onto his feet and kicks him into the stomach, and then again for good measure before dragging him into a front face lock. The crowd goes wild as Mr. Marshall lifts LXG vertically into the air but before he brings him down in conventional fashion he drops him back to his first position. ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! KNEE DRIVES TO THE UPPER BODY/FACE OF LXG. Then in snapping fashion Mr. Marshall suplexes LXG but instead of leaving it at that Mr. Marshall relifts LXG and hits a second suplex.
ONE!
No Marshall grapples LXG up into the air for a third suplex but LXG fights back and breaks free from the submission. LXG smashes Marshall with a huge punch out of nowhere on the counter attack.
LXG then gores Marshall to the floor. The crowd goes insane as LXG covers Marshall.
ONE!
TWO!
No Marshall kicks out of the attempt. However LXG refuses to let Mr. Marshall have any breathing space and instantly drags him off of the mat and into a side headlock.
LXG attempts to DDT Mr. Marshall.
Mr. Marshall reverses it with a northern lights…
No LXG lands on both feet and turns Marshall over, following it up LXG drives his knee into the stomach of Mr. Marshall and then hurls him under his legs… no!!! on second thoughts LXG slaps a Fujiwara Armbar on Mr. Marshall.
Mr. Marshall struggles.
But Mr. Marshall in the end is forced to tap to the pain.
